OSSIAN, Ind. (WANE) - A two year old boy is back home after he went missing Wednesday afternoon in Ossian.

Shannon and Kristin Parks had dropped their son Oliver, 2, off at his aunt's house in Ossian Wednesday afternoon. Shannon said he was just waking up when he got a call from his mother-in-law that his son went missing.

"There are no words, no words. I don't know what I would do without him," said Kristin after getting emotional from talking about the incident.

They said he walked nearly a mile from his aunt's house. After nearly an hour and before Shannon and Kristin got to Ossian, he was found. It was how he was found that had them amazed.

"He doesn't like people holding him, doesn't like people messing with him, and she was holding him and he was calm, is what they said," Kristin said.

They wanted to thank the stranger for saving their son's life, but she said police told them the woman didn't live in the neighborhood and was gone before they could reach out to her.

"Whoever it was, that she was an angel, and so many times it doesn't turn out that way."

They hope this woman will step forward so they can thank her in person.
