FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Green Dog Goods hosted the Fall for a Greyhound event on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
All-Star Greyhounds , a non-profit group based in Lafayette, organized the event, which was held to raise awareness and funds for Greyhounds. The organization also helps to find homes for these dogs.
This year, the event raised $1,072.65 to support retired racing Greyhounds.
Michelle Scott, from All-Star Greyhounds, told NewsChannel 15 on First News Saturday that if you didn't make it to the event on Sunday, you can go to their website to apply to adopt a Greyhound.
Scott said the dogs are usually between two to four years old and are very gentle animals.
