FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Embassy Theatre's largest fundraiser, the Festival of Trees, is underway.

This year marks the 28th year for the nine-day festival. For many area residents, the Festival of Trees is a holiday tradition.

Kelly Updike, Executive Director at the Embassy Theatre, said around 15,000 people usually attend the Festival of Trees each year.

"We're a little up right now. There are several hundred people more than last year, which is good for the Embassy and the community too," Updike said.

Sunday featured different area dance groups performing on the Embassy Theatre stage every hour.

There are 55 decorated trees inside the Embassy. Updike said this year's festival features creative Tin Caps and Mad Ants trees.
