FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - East Allen Community Schools is asking the community for feedback concerning challenging issues on providing a higher quality education with fewer resources.

"We’ve been going around the communities for several weeks…and it’s clear that those people who attended this meeting are very focused on academics and the achievement of our students,” said Karyle Green, Superintendent East Allen Community Schools.

EACS used to be a lighthouse school district across the state of Indiana and they are hoping to get back to that status. They are hoping to have the recommendation to the board by the end of September and have the board vote in October.

“East Allen is very hopeful that through our redesign process we will be able to provide so much more in our academic realm for our students K through 12 so when our students leave our schools can go into college or can go into the career field and be highly successful,” said Green.

EACS regular board meetings are scheduled for Tuesday September 7 and Tuesday September 21.
