DECATUR, Ind. (WANE) Crews began tearing down a building in downtown Decatur Wednesday night that had become an eyesore and was deemed unsafe.
Over the years the building at the corner of Second and Monroe Streets has housed the Holthouse Drug Store, Hallmark, and Dwayne's Sweeper Shop. City leaders bought the property to knock it down.
Crews are working at night because there's less traffic in the area. Most of the building will be demolished by Thursday evening.
It's not yet known what will be put at that downtown corner.
