FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Crews responded to reports of a house fire around in the 3300 block of Felician Street around 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday. It took crews about eight minutes to get the fire under control once they arrived on the scene.
Firefighters worked for several minutes after it was under control putting out hot spots.
No one was home at the time of the fire but two cats in the house did die. There were no injuries reported.
The house suffered heavy fire damage on the first floor and moderate water and smoke damage throughout the rest of the house.
The Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, NIPSCO, and AEP.
