BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) - Fire crews are battling a house fire in Bluffton.

Firefighters at the scene said around 5:30 Monday morning, Wells County EMS reported the house fire.

They had been in the area and found a house on fire in the 500 block of West Miller Street.

Bluffton fire crews were on another call at the time, so the Ossian Fire Department was called to the scene. Bluffton firefighters arrived a short time later.

The home was fully involved in flames when crews arrived. At one point the roof collapsed. Crews also had problems getting the electricity shut off.

Fire officials said no one was home when the fire started. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for breathing issues.

It took firefighters a little more than two hours to get the fire under control. Crews are still on the scene, and heavy smoke is still coming from the house.
