FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Fire Department conducted a controlled burn on a home on 1410 Lower Huntington Rd. Saturday afternoon.
The home was the former office for Mentoring Moms, Inc., an nonprofit ministry that serves women who are in crisis, conflict, or stress.
The home was severely damaged in a flood in May 2011 so the property owners, Avalon Missionary Church, donated the building to the FWFD for training purposes.
Mentoring Moms also held a hot dog roast during the controlled burn to raise support and money for the Haiti Mission Team III, who will conduct their Third Annual Christian Women's Conference in La Jeune, Haiti, in March 2013.
