ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) -- People in Angola took a trip back in time over the weekend for the annual Civil War Days .
Visitors were able to witness all kinds of activities, including a town dance, cannons being fired, and battle reenactments.
Organizers said the event was designed to make history come alive to help children see education as entertainment.
If it's more entertaining, if it's real, they understand," said "Mark Twain", one of the many impersonators at the event. "What all of us out here are trying to do is get children to understand what we are as Americans, where we came from so we can appreciate what we have."
There were also exhibits showing life before and after the Civil War.
