FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Mad Anthonys Children's Hope House announced plans to expand their facilities on Monday in order to serve more families of children receiving medical care.

The house, located at 7922 W. Jefferson Blvd. on the Lutheran Hospital Campus, will expand to have 10 family guest rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a stocked pantry, two living rooms, a TV lounge, a computer room, a fitness room, a meditation room and three laundry rooms.

Since it opened in December 2003, more than 4,000 families have stayed for over 13,500 nights. Families are asked to pay a donation of $10 to stay at the house but are never turned away if unable to pay. According to the Hope House's web site , the actual cost of an overnight stay is $95.

From Mad Anthonys Children's Hope House:
The mission of Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House is to offer temporary, minimal-cost lodging to parents and families of children receiving medical care away from home; to provide families with a place of comfort, hope and emotional support; to serve families regardless of race, gender, religious or political affiliation; and never turn away any family due to inability to pay.
