FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Science Central hosted a Catapult Chaos Contest Thursday, featuring homemade contraptions that could launch items at a target 300 feet away.

Teams competed in one of four categories: open class, high school, college/adult, and corporate.

"We realized, catapults. I mean how much fun is that? You get to build these giant contraptions and then launch things," said Science Central Executive Director Martin Fisher.

One of the winning teams was eventually able to hit a target with a flour bag from 300 feet away.
