FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Big Brothers Big Sisters of northeast Indiana announced they are moving into a newly renovated building on The Summit campus.

The press conference was held at The Summit - Commons at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2.

T. Charles Pierson, the national president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters, hosted the event.

The new location will allow for a partnership to leverage The Summit, owned by Ambassador Enterprises, and will also offer more services to Bigs and Littles. The former Witmer Hall is now under construction and will be completed in January 2013.

“This partnership will allow us to offer more on-site activities for Bigs to mentor and interact with the Littles, and ultimately improve results. Big Brothers Big Sisters of northeast Indiana is one of the largest chapters in the U.S., and we are always looking for ways to have the greatest impact on the children we serve," Big Brothers Big Sisters of northeast Indiana CEO Josette Rider said.

Construction should be completed by January.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of northeast Indiana is on target to serve and match 1,972 children with adult mentors by the end of 2012.
