FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Several complaints about a local snow removal company are raising the eyebrows of officials at the Better Business Bureau. Customers claim they paid for services they never received.
Since the beginning of this year, the BBB has received 13 complaints against Fort Wayne Snow Removal .
The company first opened up for business in the fall of 2011 . BBB leaders said they're noticing a pattern in the complaints. Mike Coil, the President and CEO of the BBB, told NewsChannel 15 it involves people paying for snow removal services and never receiving them. For a company of its size, Coil said seeing that it has 13 complaints is concerning.
The BBB sent a letter to the owner and operator of Fort Wayne Snow Removal last week to learn more about the situation.
"We just want to find out from the company what's going on, why are there so many complaints, what are the issues, and have them explain to us. Then at that point, we put it (their BBB rating) back in and reinstate the rating or we do more investigating to find out what's going on," Coil explained.
The BBB hasn't heard from the company yet. NewsChannel 15 reached out to the owner of Fort Wayne Snow Removal, Brian Thornton, but he never returned our call.
For the time being, the BBB has removed the company's rating on the BBB website.
