BUTLER, Ind. (WANE) - The Butler Fire Department hosted a benefit on Sunday for a woman hit by a car in June.
Rebecca Young was walking with her husband on June 12 when a distracted driver hit and critically hurt her.
"We're just doing everything we can do to help make ends meet for them," Don France, the organizer of the benefit, said.
The benefit included a breakfast, bake sale, and raffle to help the family pay for medical expenses.
"It's a hard situation, but we have been very blessed, and God has truly carried us and brought us where we are," Rebecca Young said.
Anyone who missed the benefit, but wants to help can make donations to the R Young Benefit Fund and mail them to the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Butler. That address is 200 South Broadway Street, Butler, IN 46721.
