FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Students at Shawnee Middle School in Fort Wayne spent part of the day Tuesday decorating Christmas cards for the "Be a Santa for a Senior" program through Home Instead Senior Care.

On Christmas trees at local Walgreens stores you can find ornaments that feature gift ideas for local seniors. Anyone can take an ornament, buy the gift, and give it to a Walgreens worker.

The gifts are then distributed to lonely and financially-challenged seniors.

Cards made by the Shawnee students will be attached to those gifts.

The program runs through December 13.
