FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- The Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana is warning consumers of a hoax text message promising a gift card to Best Buy .
The fake message reads, "Congratulations! Your name has been drawn, and you have won a $1000 gift card from Best Buy!" This message does not come from Best Buy.
The phone number given to call, 323-819-4080, is also out of service.
BBB officials say the best thing to do when you receive a text message like this is to verify it with the company and not the sender of the message.
