AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) The longest running collector car auction is ready for Labor Day weekend at the Auburn Auction Park .
Photo Gallery: Cars up for sale and other attractions
Every year, thousands flock to Auburn to buy, sell and admire the many cars up for auction. Organizers with Auctions America by RM expect people from all over world to attend the event.
The auction also features activities for all ages such as monster truck rides and helicopter rides. NewsChannel 15 was lucky to get a ride on a helicopter on Friday.
Pilot Brian Riley, of RIA Jets , took up NewsChannel 15's Digital Director, Joe Carroll, in a Bell 47G Helicopter built in 1967. WANE captured aerial footage of the auction and of downtown Auburn.
Check out NewsChannel 15's Rod Hissong's extensive preview of the event.
The auction will also feature several celebrity vehicles, including the 1989 "Batman Returns" car that was used to promote the Batman movies starring Michael Keaton; a 1986 Willie Nelson tour bus, which is affectionately known as "The Scout II" or "Me and Paul"; the 'School of Rock" van.
The event started on Thursday and runs through Sunday.
Admission to the four-day event is $45 for a full-event pass or $15 for one day. Children under 12-years-old are free with an adult paid admission.
