KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WANE) - The Apple Festival, Kendallville's biggest annual community event, was held October 6 and 7 at the Noble County Fairgrounds and Main Street Village in downtown Kendallville.
There was 37 food stands, entertainment, craft and antique vendors, Civil War re-enactors, games, and activities for children at the Noble County Fairgrounds. The Main Street Village area has a new Native American theme with 14 new food and craft vendors.
The Medicine Woman Singers, a group of Miami Indian drummers, singers and dancers, performed near the William Street and Main Street intersection on each day.
The "Raise A Ruckus" cabaret, which features performances by Miss Indiana, Miss Indiana Outstanding Teen, and East Noble alumnus Nick Smith, was also a popular event at the Apple Festival.
Many of the food booths were operated by Kendallville-area churches, sororities, clubs, and school groups. Some of the proceeds from their booths will go towards philanthropies.
Planning for next years festival will start soon.
