FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Veterinarians at a Fort Wayne animal clinic hit a milestone Tuesday when they performed the 10, 000th surgery to spay or neuter an animal.

HOPE for Animals is dedicated to preventing the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets. On average, 35 spay/neuter surgeries are completed every day. It's estimated that since HOPE opened in 2010, the clinic has prevented 25,000 potential euthanasias.

"10,000 surgeries is a great accomplishment for our community, and our team is thrilled to be advancing our mission to end euthanasia," states Megan Reynolds-Close, HOPE for Animals Community Outreach Coordinator.
