FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Several crews from the Fort Wayne Fire Department were called to a fire in the 2000 block of Andrew Street Thursday and were warned someone was possibly inside along with a meth lab.
According to the FWFD, when crews arrived at 2011 Andrew Street at 8:41 a.m., smoke and flames were coming from the house. After about 15 minutes, crews were able to get it under control.
Fortunately, neither of the warnings turned out to be true.
FWFD said they suspected meth activity due to the fact they had previously worked a fire at that particular home and evidence of a meth lab was found inside.
In this circumstance, FWFD officials were able to confirm that this fire was caused by the homeowner who left lit candles unattended.
Only one injury was reported. One firefighter suffered a minor upper leg sprain.
