NEAR TOPEKA, Ind. (WANE) - Three Amish children are in a Fort Wayne hospital after police said the horse pulling their buggy got spooked.
Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, the buggy was heading north on County Road 300 West near Topeka .
That's when police said the horse got spooked by a tree trimming crew and took off.
While the mother tried to get the horse under control, three of the four kids - ages one, four, and six - were thrown from the buggy, according to police.
Medics flew them all to Parkview Hospital. Officials haven't released their names or conditions, but police said the four-year-old does have skull fractures.
