ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - The Allen County Democratic Party held a community wide rally on Saturday, October 27, at Headwaters Park West.
More than hundred people showed up for the event.
Democratic candidates Joe Donnelly, John Gregg, Glenda Ritz, Win Moses and Kevin Boyd were among the guests at the rally. The candidates addressed the crowd with cases for their campaigns.
"What we want is working together to get things done and put our country together. Mr. Mourdock has a lot of extreme positions. What I've always tried to do is bring everyone together, democrat and republican so we can move forward," Representative Donnelly, who is running for U.S. Senate, said.
Gregg stressed the race for Indiana's governor is about jobs.
"We've got a jobs plan. Use existing state monies and leverage it and we're not going to touch the state surplus and we can leverage that for $3.5 billion and create 97,000 jobs for infrastructure," he said.
While pushing their position was part of the day, so was pushing people to the polls.
"We want to see every American vote, whether republican, democrat independent, whatever, we want everybody to vote and have their voice be heard," Donnelly said.
People were encouraged to vote early at the BOE office on 1 West Superior Street.

"The election's up to the people now. Candidates have done about all they can, so we go out to get them fired up and remind them to vote and encourage them to vote early if they can," Gregg said.
The candidates were also impressed with such a big turnout at the rally.
"There's such a deep love and affection for Fort Wa yne and people here. It's a cornerstone of our economy and our state and I wanted to be here to show my respect for Fort W ayne," Donnelly said.
