Wing Ding event brings $5M to economy

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Between 7,500 and 8,000 people are in Fort Wayne for the Gold Wing Road Riders Association's 34th Annual Wing Ding Event, which runs through July 7 at the Memorial Coliseum. It's expected to bring between $4.5 and $5.5 million to the community.

The kickoff ceremony will be held at the Coliseum at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4. A few other events of note include:

“Horses and Horsepower” Welcome Party – Grabill                                Tuesday, July 3 from 6-10 p.m.

IPFW Fireworks Rooftop Party and Light Parade                                       Wednesday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m.

Grand Parade (from Memorial Coliseum to Parkview Field)                    Friday, July 6 at 5:30 p.m.

Other activities include an extensive trade show at the Coliseum, Poker Rides throughout northeastern Indiana, TinCaps Night at Parkview Field, and bus tours to Auburn and DeBrand Fine Chocolates.
