FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Headwaters Park in Fort Wayne will stay under the same management through at least 2012.
According to Headwaters Park Alliance Executive Director Geoff Paddock, the Fort Wayne Board of Park Commissioners voted to extend the management agreement of the Headwaters Park Alliance through December 31, 2012 on Thursday afternoon.
Paddock says the city will pay the Alliance $100,000 in 2010, 2011, and 2012 for management services.
He says this is a reduction from the amount it was paid in 2009 and that both parties agreed to it. He calls it "a very good outcome for Headwaters Park, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the taxpayers of Fort Wayne."
Last year, there was some doubt whether the Alliance would continue management of Headwaters. Fort Wayne officials considered taking over management to save money.
