FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity dedicated a new home Friday for Trinell Armour and her three children.
The home was built with supplies paid for by local women participating in the fifth Women Build project.
That program encourages local women to participate in both the building and fundraising efforts of Habitat for Humanity.
"Having seen the Women Build program from its infancy to now reach the point where five homes have been built is an awesome experience," said Laurie Brumbaugh, Fort Wayne Habitat's director of development. "This house could not have been built for Trinell and her kids without a great group of women committed to raising funds and building the home."
The Armour’s had to complete 300 hours volunteering on other Habitat sites to qualify for the program. They also had to take 10 classes on sustainable homeownership and will repay the zero-interest mortgage over 20 years.
