FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A line snaked its way though the garden section at the Meijer on Maysville Road in Fort Wayne Thursday as about 1,500 people waited to meet Sarah Palin on stop two of her book signing tour. About a thousand people got wristbands to have their books signed.

"It's cold, but it's fun meeting all the people," Patricia Thomas of Auburn said.

Patty Glicksbert drove four hours from Illinois to have Palin sign her book.

"I figured this would be the closest to Chicago she'd get," Glicksbert said.

Unlike campaign stops in the past, Palin arrived quietly through the back of the building.

The first person in the line arrived at Meijer Wednesday afternoon. Around noon Thursday, Palin started signing books.

"She personalized my book. I was pretty excited," Nick Sullivan said. "I told her it was nice to meet her and she said it was nice to meet you. It was well worth the wait."

Jim Braun had two books signed for his bosses.

"She thanked me three times for coming. She asked for my name and I told her and she said my name twice. It made me feel special," Braun said.

When the signing wrapped up around 3 p.m., Palin headed to the next stop on the tour in Noblesville near Indianapolis.
