FORT WAYNE, Ind.(WANE) - The Cellular Connection asked Parkview to bring their Don’t Text and Drive car to their Maysville Road location in an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while you drive.

Kison Drake, Cellular Connection manager said, “Safety is first. Cellular devices are used for convenience, but at the same time we want to use safety with that convenience.”

Lori Hunt, the Trauma Prevention Coordinator at Parkview Hospital said that texting while driving is an addiction. “It’s really critical to get this message out,” said Hunt. At the trauma center we’re seeing so many more people get injured because of this deadly disease and people making bad choices and distractions. The only way to get the message out is to unite the whole community and that is what our Don’t Text and Drive program has been trying to do.”
