Hunting accident leaves 80-year-old in serious condition

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - An 80-year-old man fell 24 feet to the ground after falling from a tree stand while deer hunting in southeastern Steuben County.

Carl Folk, Jr., of Ligonier, was attempting to climb down from the deer stand at around 7:30 p.m. His son was assisting him.

Folk was stepping off the platform and onto the ladder leading to the ground when he lost his balance and fell to the ground.

He was flown by Samaritan to Parkview and is listed in serious condition.
