4 K9 units graduate from 14-wk training

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) Four K9 officers and their partners have completed a 14-week training academy. They received certificates Friday morning during a ceremony at the Allen County Courthouse.

The K-9s are now trained in obedience control, evidence search, area search, building search, tracking and the detection of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and ecstasy.

The officers are from several area departments and include:

- Officer Kevin C. Surface and K-9 Blitz (Allen County Sheriff's Department)
- Officer Daniel A. Reynolds and K-9 Thor (Dayton, Ohio Police Department)
- Deputy Paul M. Kubinski and K-9 Zyg (Kendall County, Illinois Sheriff's Office)
- Deputy David R. McVoy and K-9 Zeek (Huntington County Sheriff's Department)
