FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - In Monday’s edition of the “Saving America: 28 Ideas in 28 Days” series, Drew Blair interviewed J. Tamir Rasheed, the president of The Islamic Center of Fort Wayne.
He has been a member of the Fort Wayne community for more than 40 years. The former furniture business owner has most recently been active in the interfaith movement as a 30-year student of Islam.
Ideas for how to change America do not always come in the form of legislation, according to Rasheed. He believes improving morals and ethics should be the primary focus of not only elected officials but every citizen.
The "Saving America: 28 Ideas in 28 Days" reports continue Tuesday in an interview with Megan Kelly, coordinator of “Great Kids Make Great Communities,” a nonprofit program of the Allen Superior Court. Her conversation with Mark Mellinger airs during First at Five at 5:00 p.m.
