FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - As NewsChannel 15 continues its series "Saving America: 28 Ideas in 28 Days", Mark Mellinger sits down with Steel Dynamics Chairman and CEO Keith Busse.

Busse helped start the Fort Wayne-based company close to two decades ago and, under his leadership, the steel manufacturer has achieved $8 billion in yearly revenue and created 6,000 jobs, about half of which are in Indiana.

Busse began his professional career as an accountant, and he not only helped explain America's budget deficit in understandable terms in his interview with NewsChannel 15, but also suggested some possible solutions. He will retire from his role as CEO at year's end.

Our series continues Friday morning on First News as Terra Brantley interviews FWCS Teacher of the Year Carolyn Bookmyer.
