HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Huntington County Animal Control is still looking for one of the cows that escaped after the semi it was being transported in collided with a car on Interstate 69 Friday afternoon.
Indiana State Police said around 3 p.m. a woman traveling south near Warren crossed the center line and crashed into a semi hauling cattle. The semi overturned and several cows ended up escaping into the area around the interstate. Part of the highway was shut down for about four hours while police worked to clean up debris and round up the animals.
Animal control officers believe about 68 cows escaped from the trailer.
They were able to find most of them by Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, they were still searching for two. One was found later that day.
As of Monday afternoon, one is still missing.
If anyone sees this cow, call the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department at 260-356-8316.
The cows were headed to an auction barn in Shipshewana, Indiana.
