USDA Undersecretary to visit Allen County farm

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) The Indiana Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced Monday afternoon that USDA Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services Undersecretary Michael Scuse will tour drought stricken farms in the state on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Wednesday, Scuse will visit the Allen County farm of Randy Schaefer located at 14024 Hildebrand Rd. in Fort Wayne.  Schaefer raises corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa hay as well as beef cattle.  His farm also suffered damage from the June 29 storm.  

Later on Wednesday, Scuse will visit with some farmers in White County to tour moisture depleted corn fields.

Then on Thursday, Scuse will visit with a Johnson County farmer.
