INDEPENDENCE, Ind. (AP) -- The town of Independence is back in business.
WLFI reports a new convenience store opened by resident Kenny Green is the first business in the town in nearly 15 years.
Green says he started with two soda machines outside the building a decade ago but recently decided to expand to a convenience store. It opened over the weekend.
Green said there once were two businesses in the Wabash River community about 17 miles west of Lafayette. One burned down, and the other closed.
He hopes the store he's named Pa Pa Kenny's will stay in the community for a while and will save his friends time and money.
