ANDREWS, Ind. (WANE) - - Salamonie Lake in Huntington County will be hosting a three day Senior Fall Fest on September 10, 11, and 12.

This event will be held at the Lost Bridge West State Recreation Area in western Huntington County. People ages 50 and older are invited to participate in an assortment of activities, such as fishing, horseshoes, cornhole, and crafts.

The theme of the Senior Fall Fest is “Discover Your Roots”  and participants will be encouraged to share genealogy and family stories.

The event will also feature two bands. The Second Coming will perform on September 11 from 7-9 p.m and God’s Country will perform on September 12 from 7-9 p.m.

The monthly Senior Monday Luncheon will be on September 10 at 12:30 p.m. Craig Arnold, the assistant director for the IPFW Archeological Survey, will present a program on early Native American farming. The meat dish will be provided by UWIS and seniors should bring a dish to pass, their own table service, and a $1 donation to help offset the cost of the meat dish.

A second carry-in meal will be on September 12 at 12:30 p.m. UWIS will provide the main dish. Seniors should bring table service and a dish to pass that represents their family’s favorite “homeland” meal.

Participants should call the Upper Wabash Interpretive Services (UWIS) at (260) 468-2127 to register for meals and programs.

The Senior Fall Fest fee is $3. The standard gate fee is $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle.
