INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Indiana gubernatorial candidates John Gregg and Mike Pence both want to help working Hoosiers, but propose different ways to do it..

Democrat Gregg wants to promote equal pay for women by honoring businesses that pay equally, create new opportunities for those businesses and establishing a hotline to report suspected pay discrimination.

Gregg says the average Indiana woman earns 74 cents on the dollar made by her male counterpart, and it's time for the practice to end.

Republican Pence wants to help working Hoosiers by cutting their income taxes by 10 percent. He says the tax cut would cost about $530 million but wouldn't affect the state's cash reserves of about $1.4 billion.

Gregg has proposed eliminating the state sales tax on gasoline and the corporate income tax for Indiana-based businesses.
