ELKHART, Ind. (AP) -- State police say a northern Indiana man was critically injured when he jumped from an overpass onto the Indiana Toll Road.
State troopers responding to reports of a man standing alone outside a protective fence along the overpass arrived to find that 22-year-old Michael David Lee Noffsinger of Granger had jumped onto the toll road below.
Corporal Chase Overbeeke says Noffsinger jumped onto the highway from the State Road 19 overpass shortly after 7:10 a.m. Sunday. He was rushed in critical condition to a hospital in St. Joseph County.
Trooper says they've found no evidence of foul play and no indication that Noffsinger was forced or thrown from the overpass.
