KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Autopsy results show the death of missing Indiana State University student Gerald Smith was caused by drowning.
Knox County Coroner Donald Halter said the toxicology results are still pending.
Officials found the body of 22-year-old Smith in the Wabash River near Kimmel Park in Vincennes on Friday. Smith has been missing since April 30 and was last seen near the ISU campus.
Smith was set to graduate on Saturday. ISU honored him with a moment of silence during the graduation ceremony and presented his mother with his diploma.
