SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- The county that includes South Bend ran out of ballots at about a dozen precincts.

WSBT-TV reports that at least a dozen precincts in St. Joseph County ran out of ballots between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday and voters were turned away in some places. One precinct inspector, Mike Maeyens, says he called county officials looking for more ballots but didn't get any until Democratic and Republican officials got involved.

Maeyens says some voters were upset and he estimates at least 10 people at his precinct left without voting.
