INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) Indiana Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman headed to China on an economic development mission on Monday. She leads a delegation of mayors, business and agricultural leaders. This is her second trade mission to China during her time as lieutenant governor.

"You need to only look at the 230 or so Japanese companies that are operating in Indiana and providing more than 40,000 jobs to our people, to see that we could indeed have the same potential with investment from China," said Skillman.

The group will visit several areas, including the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, which has a 25-year economic relationship with Indiana.

Three people from northeastern Indiana area are part of the delegation: John Sampson of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Decatur Mayor John Schultz, and Larry Macklin with the Adams County Economic Development Corporation.

The delegation is scheduled to return to the United States on Sunday June 17.
