Kokomo wins State Community Achievement Award

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Association of Cities and Towns announced that the city of Kokomo was awarded a 2012 Community Achievement Award for its quality of life improvements and improved manufacturing community.
Kokomo will be receiving the award at the IACT Annual Conference and Exhibition on Wednesday, October 3 in French Lick, Indiana.
Kokomo was recognized because the city enhanced the existing park system, implemented bike lanes and hiking trails, promoted educational opportunities, and revamped public transportation.
The workforce has also increased in Kokomo because manufacturing companies have located and expanded businesses in the city.
