NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) The Noble County Sheriff's Department held a retirement ceremony for a valued member of the agency on Tuesday.

Xander, a seven-year-old Dutch Shepherd, was commissioned as an officer in Dec. 2007. He has been with his hander, Deputy David Worman, for five years.

Deputy Worman said Xander was always been ready to go and excelled in all his work.

The Noble County Sheriff's Department said Deputy Worman is retiring as a K9 officer, so it was the right time for Xander as well. Deputy Worman will still be an active police officer.

Xander will spend the rest of time with the Worman family and their Puggle and three children.
