INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) – The Indiana Blood Center shipped 250 units to blood on Wednesday to LifeShare Blood Center in Louisiana in preparation for Tropical Storm Issac.
Indiana Blood Center is also committed to send 100 additional units of blood to LifeShare Blood Center on Thursday, August 30.
LifeShare is an independent blood center which services portions of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
“Indiana Blood Center has an adequate supply to meet the needs of all our hospitals around the state. Thanks to the commitment of Hoosiers to our cause, we’re able to share this precious resource to help blood centers in and around the Gulf Coast,” said Mike Parejko, chief operating officer at Indiana Blood Center. “We encourage people today, as we do every day, to visit one of our nine donor centers to replenish and sustain a healthy supply of blood.”
