INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton is headlining a fundraising dinner
to benefit the Indiana Democratic Party.
Clinton's return to Indianapolis on Saturday follows dozens
of campaign stops he made in Indiana last year on behalf of his
wife Hillary, who narrowly beat Barack Obama in the state's
Democratic primary.
Obama later became the first Democratic presidential
candidate to win Indiana since 1964 -- providing a highlight for a
party that has Sen. Evan Bayh as its only statewide office holder.
Clinton is to speak during the Jefferson Jackson Day dinner
at the Marriott hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Party officials
expect about 1,500 people to attend, with tickets costing $125
each.
