FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Friday is the deadline for farmers to purchase 2013 crop insurance.
Indiana farmers have already received payouts from insurance companies totaling more than $1 billion for the 2012 growing season, which is nearly twice as much as the previous record, set in 2008.
75 percent of Indiana corn, soybean and wheat crops were insured during last year's drought.
