FISHERS, Ind. (AP/WANE) -- The extension of Interstate 69 through southern Indiana means the highway's existing interchanges north of Indianapolis will be renumbered. That means the Fort Wayne interchanges will get new numbers.
A meeting will be held at the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce with the Indiana Department of Transportation at 8 a.m. on July 25 to explain the renumbering process.
The highway will span the entire state when the I-69 extension between Evansville and Indianapolis is complete, adding 184 miles to its route in Indiana. The highway currently ends at its intersection with I-465 on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
