FISHERS, Ind. (WANE) - Police in Fishers arrested three men accused of breaking into several vehicles early Tuesday morning.
Just before two o'clock on August 31, Officer Jim Hawkins was checking the security of the vehicles located in the parking lots of businesses and hotels located along the 9700 block of Crosspoint Blvd. From his position at the Staybridge Suites, he saw a dark colored vehicle driving suspiciously in the parking lot of the nearby Residence Inn.
When Officer Hawkins began driving toward the area of the suspicious vehicle, it quickly pulled out of the parking lot and then drove toward Hague Road at a high rate of speed. Officer Hawkins caught up to the vehicle and stopped it near the intersection of Hague Road and 96th Street.
The driver of the car, James R. Farmer, 26, and passengers Nicholus Joe Hamilton, 28, and James Allen Blankenship, 25, were taken into custody.
During the traffic stop, other officers located vehicles in the Residence Inn and Springhill Suites parking lots that had been broken into. Each had shattered windows. During a search of the suspects' vehicle, police found numerous items that had been stolen from at least seven different vehicles at the mentioned hotels including the Studio 6 and Holiday Inn Express located on North by Northeast Blvd. on the east side of I-69.
All three men were taken to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with 7 counts each of Theft and Criminal Mischief.
