KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) -- Sheriff's deputies have arrested an Indiana woman on drunken driving charges after witnesses told police they saw her erratically driving a school bus carrying student athletes.
Fifty-six-year-old Kokomo Center Township school bus driver Theresa Mast was being held in the Howard County Jail on Saturday on a preliminary charge of driving while intoxicated. A jail officer didn't know if she had a lawyer.
The Kokomo Tribune reports ( http://bit.ly/tCxScR ) a school official on the bus got Mast to pull over after witnesses reported it was driving erratically on U.S. 31 near Kokomo. The passengers were safely transferred to a second school bus and Mast drove to a gas station where police were waiting.
Police say a test showed Mast's blood alcohol content was .20, more than twice Indiana's legal limit.
