INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced that they will be switching to a 24-hour dispatch center in order to maintain radio contact with conservation officers across the state.
Currently, the DNR's Central Dispatch Center operates daily from 7 a.m. to midnight. The 24-hour switch will take place at midnight on Monday, October 29.
“The immediate response by a Conservation Officer to tips received on a 24-hour basis will greatly enhance the enforcement efforts of our fish and game violations,” Joe Cales , President of the TIP Advisory Board, said. “This is a monumental improvement that will benefit all citizens and ethical sportsmen.”
Central Dispatch is located at Paynetown State Recreation Area on Monroe Lake near Bloomington, Ind.
The number for the 24-hour dispatch center is 1-812-837-9536.
