Dekalb County temporarily lifts burn ban

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - DeKalb County officials have lifted the county's burn ban for one week.

Commissioners Don Grogg and Randy Deetz said there has been enough rain county-wide to lift the ban.

They added residents had been very compliant during the ban, even during the Fourth of July holiday.  The commissioners are advising residents to still use extreme caution when burning trash or having any kind of open flame.

The commissioners said more rain is expected in their county during the next week.  If that happens, the burn ban would still be lifted.

Rain or no rain, the county will revisit the issue next week.
